Swag Dining Table Process Pics

This first update details the initial full-scale drawings through the cutting of the legs and pedestal as well as creating the circular 48″ diameter top.  There is still much to be done, but the clients will be enjoying family meals around this table shortly.

Dresser Teaser

These pics are the teaser to the full album that will soon be up on the Portfolio page.  This dresser is part of a set with two matching night stands.  The piece was commissioned by clients who were trying to win a vintage piece on eBay.  They did not win it and wanted a piece similar made along with the night stands.  The original piece was mahogany with all brass trim, this piece is white oak that was milled from a tree downed by super storm Sandy in the NYC area.

Barcode Armoire Portfolio Pics

This armoire was commissioned by a client who saw a credenza piece with the linear outer detail.  She wanted it done in an armoire piece for added storage.  I took the look and incorporated it into the piece below.

Display Box Build

This is a companion gallery to the Portfolio page gallery for the Display Box.  The client needed a case to house a liquid product he showcases to clients.  The box was built around the dimensions of the jars.  The wood is cherry with a cherry stain and satin poly finish.  It was my first time utilizing cigar box hinges but they came out gorgeously.  At least I think so.

Barcode Armoire

This armoire was commissioned by a client looking for more storage space for their master bedroom while retaining qualities from a credenza piece they had seen online.  The strong linear exterior detail was the element they loved the most and wanted to retain.  After viewing the inspiration piece, I adapted the look to an armoire with a custom interior layout of three European style drawers below and an upper portion for a closet rod (made of solid wood) that also had the ability to utilize adjustable shelves.  The piece is out of veneered and solid Sapele and will be finished to match existing night stands in the room.  The following gallery documents the first half of the build. This piece will be completed later in the week.

Radiator finishing

Gearing up for the install tomorrow, March 15th, the gallery below details the finishing and hardware installation of the radiator cover.  This might be the nicest radiator cover in the tri-state area.  Install pics to come after the weekend.

Radiator Cover Update

Update photos on the custom 17′ long radiator cover.  Everything is glued, dry clamped three sections together to fasten them together before install.  The entire unit will be removable in the event the units need to be repaired.  By the end of the gallery, everything has been detailed sanded.  Hardware and finishing next, install by the end of the week.

Hanging Arena Sculpture

I began working with a local artist out of Greenpoint.  Her current body of work focuses on rings and circular forms.  This wall mounted piece is made up of 4 different veneered plys.  The final vision for the piece is still in the air but I’m glad to have helped bring someone else’s vision to life.

Little Name Design Lunchbox Prototype

I was approached by a designer from New Jersey to help her create new versions of these foldable wooden children’s lunch boxes.  Her site is little name design.  The original lunch boxes were sourced over seas.  Now she is looking to have them produced here in the States with a new look.  I have done three new prototypes, exploring new hardware on each.  She will be displaying these this coming weekend at the Playtime New York Expo along with other products.
